We're excited to announce it's now possible to link all the way to sentences, clauses, and subclauses in the codes, with the visual representation of its hierarchy displayed when you hover over text!

A new version of Building Code Act, Fire Protection and Prevention Act, City of Toronto Act, and Development Charges Act, Environmental Assessment Act and Municipal Act released on June 8th, 2023 has been added to Trax Codes.

We are also excited to announce that Trax have joined MaRS Growth Acceleration program, Supply AI at MaRS program, and Vector Institute FastLane program.

Metric-to-Imperial Unit Conversion and more!

We're excited to announce our most requested feature, Metric-to-Imperial Unit Conversion! Imperial conversions will be displayed alongside the original values, making it easy to compare and understand different units of measurement. You can choose to hide the conversions, which will then be accessible through a convenient popup window upon selection.

A new version of Ontario Building Code - Volume 1, O. Reg. 332/12 published on May 12th, 2023 has been added to Trax Codes, it incorporates 89/23 amendments. We've also added 1995 National Farm Building Code of Canada.

We are excited to announce the BETA launch of our upcoming AI-powered Building Codes Copilot. As part of this program, we are releasing an initial feature called Question & Answer. You can type in any query related to building codes and get a relevant answer from our database of over 50,000 code sections. For example, you can ask "What is the minimum ceiling height for habitable rooms?" or "How many exits are required for a restaurant?" and get a clear and concise answer.

November Update

With the addition of the November 1st Ontario Building Code, we've introduced a couple of important features. First, now when comparing two versions of a code, you can select to only show sections that contain changes, this will hide all the sections that don't have any changes. The second feature is an Annotation Move and Copy Tool, a tool to copy or move your bookmarks, comments, and highlights from one version of the code to another. Now, when a new version of a code comes out, all your comments can be moved or copied to that new version, or you can select to move or copy just some of the annotations.

Let me take you on a little walking tour of our first day at the new Trax office space in The Nucleus @ MaRS Waterfront!

While the final touches are still happening at the 400,000 sq. ft. Waterfront Innovation Centre by Menkes Developments, we jumped at the opportunity to join the first cohort of start-ups in this great new space, in the context of Toronto’s waterfront, right at Sugar Beach.

Additionally, we were very happy to recently welcome the Building Department of the City of Peterborough as a customer of the Trax platform, we've moved into a new office at MaRS Waterfront and received $25K grant from Microsoft.
