Understand how Trax sources regulatory content, processes AI requests, and manages data.

Trax licenses regulatory content directly from official federal and provincial sources, including the National Research Council of Canada, the Ontario Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, and the British Columbia Ministry of Housing and Municipal Affairs. This allows Trax users to work with trusted regulatory materials from official sources that are always up to date.

Trax does not collect personal information. Information collected through the platform is considered business information under PIPEDA.

Trax data is stored in Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform data centres in Canada. Primary storage is located in the Toronto area, with a redundant copy in the Montreal Microsoft Data Centre.

Yes. Trax search and AI requests are processed in Canada through Toronto and Montreal data centres.

Trax AI is built using Trax’s regulatory dataset, Trax’s search infrastructure, retrieval-augmented generation, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform infrastructure.

Trax AI uses the regulatory content and context available through the Trax platform, along with the user’s question and selected search parameters, to generate a response.

Currently, Trax does not have a fixed retention limit for AI questions or search information. Questions asked through AI may be stored on an ongoing basis.
Organizations with specific data retention requirements can contact Trax to discuss whether their policies can be supported.

No. Trax does not fine-tune or train AI models on customer content.

Trax has built its own search engine to support regulatory search across structured content in the platform.
